INFANT AND PRIMARY SCHOOL "Miquel Martí i Pol"

INFANT AND PRIMARY SCHOOL "Miquel Martí i Pol"

We are a public school (from 3 to 12 years old,30 teachers and 450 pupils) in the city center of Sabadell. The school aims to give the students a good intellectual training, physical, artistic and human while fostering attitudes of curiosity and critical research. We help our pupils to acquire the autonomy that will allow them to fully participate in their learning process. A particular attention is placed in the achievement of values as honesty, solidarity, cooperation and respect for people and the environment. We educate the acceptance of a pluralistic world, without distinction, whilst ensuring a correct attention to diversity. We are involved in special strategies for different areas: Dancing, Music, Reading...Four languages are taught: Catalan and Spanish, as official, French (1 hour a week in Primary) and English (from Pre-Primary to 6th level). We apply Content Language in Integrated learning methodology (CLIL) in Arts lessons.

The school have a wide experience of international cooperation. In the Comenius in Intercultural Communication Argonauts of Europe (2004-2006), we were tutoring the two months school practice of European student teachers and we have been cooperating with a school in southern France. The school coordinated a Comenius Project (2009 - 2011) with five European schools (UK, Finland, Romania, Hungary and Turkey) that has been selected as Best Practice European Project by the Spanish National Agency. We also host the teaching practice of ERASMUS students of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
