The Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB), founded in 1968, has its campus located in the outskirts of Barcelona, Spain. 
Excellence in research, inclusive education and internationalization of teaching best represent the values of this university engaged with the socio-cultural, economical and industrial sectors. The university has thirteen faculties that currently offer 85 Bachelor degrees, 195 Master and PhD degrees and 660 continued education courses to approximately 40,000 students. In 2013, the UAB was ranked 22nd in the QS rankings of universities with less than 50 years of existence.

Apart from its wide array of learning programmes, the UAB promotes quality research across all of its 57 Departments. 
Despite being a new university, the UAB is member of the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU) and has been awarded as Campus of International Excellence (2009).
The UAB annually hosts an average of 4,500 foreign students in different study programs as well as sending 1,200 students abroad to such geographically dispersed areas as Europe, North and Latin America, China and South Korea (these are its principal areas of exchange).

The Faculty of Sciences of Education, created in 1992 as a merge between the Teacher Training College and the Department of Pedagogical Studies, has 2,600 students who are evenly distributed between teaching degrees and pedagogical studies and social education. 
The faculty boasts 250 academics who work closely with a large collective of primary and secondary schools as well as other educational institutions in order to ensure quality internship possibilities the practical training of student-teachers The Faculty also participates in many international projects both on teaching innovation and research.
