Abstract

Who is the European Teacher? The International Social Network VOICES: Good Practice of Connectivity and Internationalization in Education

In the study we introduce the international social network VOICES. The network offers students, teachers, primary and secondary schools, teacher trainers, researchers and others interested in education, opportunities for contact, exchanges, cooperative projects, and ongoing learning and sharing. The network is based on the principles of connectivity and internationalization. It takes attendance for offers materials and dialogue to support novice teachers education and experienced teachers’ long life learning in the area of the international education studies.
The main goals are research activities, to explore the of theoretical and practical outcomes of the actual topics, as for example are blended learning, critically examining constructions of European childhood, challenges of European Identity and Citizenship, the teachers’ professional development or language competences, and to incorporate them into the school practice.
The main thematic areas correspond with needs of the European educational space and with the concept on competences profile of the European Teacher. The characteristics of the European teacher comes from the model of M. Schratz and also involves 21st century skills and entrepreneurial education.
