The development of soft skills and professional competences for European teachers

The course focuses on teacher training in soft skills and competencies needed to work with students in the field of European identity and diversity, with an emphasis on the cooperation and the use of ICT in the development of international school projects.

The main idea of the activities in this course is Omnes omnia omnino by J. A. Comenius (Jan Amos Komenský), consequently enabling comprehensive education to all children without any discrimination.

The course will be divided into three parts: introductory online activities, personal meetings within the course and the development of international projects.
Theoretical introduction will focus on the following topics:

The concept of identity in the education of children of primary school age

  • Explanation of concepts, work with the concept of identity
  • Demonstration of their own identity
  • Communication about identity
  • National identity

The examples of good practice – folk traditions.
European diversity – diversity of cultural differences and compliance / similarities.
A child in a multicultural society.
Communication with the child of a different mother tongue.
The European Language Portfolio.
The transition of the child from a kindergarten to a primary school.

After completing the course, participants will create their own projects, which will later be presented in the e-book on the VOICES project website.

Application requirements

Course participants must have at least five years of teaching experience and a good level (B1) of English, respectively German. If you are interested, please contact the VOICES coordinator in your country.
