INFANT AND PRIMARY SCHOOL “BELLATERRA”

INFANT AND PRIMARY SCHOOL “BELLATERRA”

Our public school, also known as “L’Escoleta” (The small school”), attends 465 kids. We are placed in Cerdanyola del Vallès, in the Autonomous University campus. The school belongs to the UNESCO network of schools and of 0-12 Schools programme. We uphold an inclusive model of education: children with permanent and severe disabilities are fully integrated into the classrooms with the support from special needs teachers and professionals from outside the school. We are also a priority school for students with hearing impairments. We defence in our educational project the significance, in all areas, of the work-in-teams projects that give value to the cooperative education and we priorize the evaluation models of work processes that allow the participation of boys and girls in the organization of school life, of the everyday life values and other values related to peace and the peaceful resolution of conflicts. Our educational project gives special relevance to the importance of all the possible languages (spoken, mathematical, artistic, body, music..) as part of communication itself and the school has a dance teacher for all levels.
We participated in many projects both on organization and curricular innovation with the Department of Education of Catalonia and the Faculty of Education. Every year we host trainees from Teaching studies. We participated also in two Comenius projects. One, as coordinators, involved all Primary levels ("Food, school and environment") and the other, was based in in Pre-primary ("Bringing a child into the world of art: artistic correspondence.”). Orator project and the "How-know" project, are some among other projects.
