The goals of the in-service course C1:

1. Show schools and teachers how they can make progress in process of 21st century education, focused on entrepreneurial education and reflective teaching.

2. Integrate technological and international developments.

3. Show teachers that this is an enjoyable process, a logical and necessary part of their teaching profession.

4. Improve the integration of migrant children in school.

Methodology:

The in-service course enables teachers to work together and gain new perspectives to 21st century education. An international group of teacher educators, teachers and students, working together in WAVE-IT, develop the learning materials for the in-service course.

The programme consists of two main subjects:

1. Didactic strategies for 21st and 2020 skils in primary and secondary education (entrepreneurship, critical thinking strategies, communication,

2. To support reflective practice through collaboration and communication between teachers, learners and academics from diferent countries - didactics, action research in the class, school/class climate, innovatiove methods - using ICT, Web 2.0, educational games, blended learning, neurodidactics.

The methodology is blended learning. The learning materials are on-line in a Moodle environment. The contact with students starts before the courses using Facebook and Moodle and continues after the face-to-face course. The course consists of lectures, workshops and applying skills. Part of the course will be accessible in their country.

The in-service course C1 covers all two objectives of WAVE-IT:

1: Development of didactic strategies for entrepreneurship.

2: Development of critical thinking strategies to support reflective practice through collaboration and communication between teachers, learners and academics.

Planning:

The course will be organized in Barcelona (ESP) for 16 teachers from different countries. Staff of the course is comprised of 3 people of lab 1 and 2 people of lab 2 for 2 days + 2 people of P1 for 5 days. They are responsible for organising the courses, making the programme, receiving the host teachers and continuity within the course, guidance of the participants and the certificates.

The participants apply for this course on the web site of the European Teachers network. The course of the previous year will be evaluated formatively and improved in the following year. When the outcomes are positive and the interest among teachers is high, we will offer the course annually within the European Network.

Staff of C1:

C1 is a 5 day Intensive programme for teaching staff (in-service course) organised in Enschede by P1. Patrick Sins and Elsbeth Ruiterkamp are responsible for the organisation of the 5 day course. Host teachers are coming for two days from P2, P4, P5 and P7 (lab 1) and P1, P6 (lab 2). Host teachers are selected equally divided over the labs and partners. Within these rules we select the best teachers.
